Jerry Horne gets lost in the woods. Deputy Chief Hawk and Sheriff Truman deduce that Leland hid the missing pages from Laura Palmer’s diary, which contain details of a dream in which Annie told Laura that the good Dale was trapped in the Lodge. Sheriff Truman calls Doc Hayward, who recalls that ‘Agent Cooper’ sneaked out of the hospital Intensive Care Unit after checking on Audrey Horne, who lay in a coma after the incident at the bank. Lieutenant Knox visits Detective Madeley in Buckhorn about the headless body suspected to be Major Briggs; but the cadaver is in his forties, when Briggs should be in his seventies… FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole and Agent Albert Rosenfield convince a resentful Diane to speak to her former boss, ‘Agent Cooper’; after arriving at Yankton Federal Prison, Dianne questions Mr C and immediately knows it is not Dale. Mr C blackmails Warden Murphy into releasing him and Ray. At ‘Lucky 7 Insurance’, police question Cooper about Dougie’s stolen and exploded car. As Cooper and Janey-E leave the building, Ike appears with a gun - but Cooper expertly disarms him. The owner of the truck Richard drove in the hit-and-run fails to rendezvous with Deputy Andy Brennan. At the ‘Great Northern Hotel’, Ben Horne and his assistant Beverly search for a strange hum, then find Agent Cooper’s returned room key. Beverly returns home to her terminally ill husband, Tom. At the Roadhouse, Jean-Michel Renault has a call about his prostitutes. Ray and Mr C leave prison. A young man bursts into the RR Diner, looking for ‘Billy’.
